Fire performance of modular wall panels: Numerical analysis

چکیده
The Modular Building System (MBS) is increasingly popular and promoted due to the inherent advantages over conventional construction. Fire performance of a building has become crucial design consideration because recent detrimental fire accidents. However, for modular buildings, there been less previous evidence research on performance. Investigations necessary since double skin wall floor panel systems are involved in MBS contrast buildings. Therefore, this work investigates Light-gauge Steel Framed (LSF) panels with different configurations through numerical analyses. Heat transfer models were developed validated against full-scale test results comparing time–temperature response. subsequently extended analyse LSF panels. This includes 16 single resistance plasterboard linings three insulations, namely rock wool, glass fibre mineral wool. structural time was determined using established Load Ratio (LR) vs critical Hot-Flange (HF) temperature correlation. demonstrated that no noticeable difference between corresponding mapped configurations. experience enhanced insulation up 170% single-lined plasterboards 80% double-lined analysis also yields significant influence choice material rock-wool, glass-fibre mineral-wool resistance.

The Fire Performance of Exposed Timber Panels
Cross-laminated timber is increasingly being used in the construction of high-rise buildings due to its simple manufacturing system. In term of fire resistance, cross-laminated timber panels are promoted as having excellent fire resistance, comparable to that of non-combustible materials and to heavy timber construction, due to the ability of thick wood assemblies to char slowly at a predictabl...
متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Analysis of the Cooling Performance of Water Spraying Systems during a Fire
The water spray systems are effective protection systems in the confined or unconfined spaces to avoid the damage to building structures since the high temperature when fires occur. NFPA 15 and 502 have suggested respectively that the factories or vehicle tunnels install water spray systems to protect the machinery and structures. This study discussed the cooling effect of water spray systems i...
متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Study of Perforated Steel Plate Shear Panels
Thin perforated Steel Plate Shear (SPS) Walls are among the most common types of energy dissipating systems. The applied holes reduce the shear strength of the plate and allow to decrease the profile size of the members at the boundary of the panel when these systems are used in the typical design of structures. On the other hand, the different fracture locations of these panels are visible whe...
متن کاملNumerical analysis of sound insulation performance of double-layer wall with vibration absorbers using FDTD method
For investigating the detail effects of the vibration absorbers in the cavity of the double-layer wall (DLW), a vibro-acoustic numerical model was developed and the behavior of the system was simulated by the finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD method). By comparing the results for various cases, the mechanism of the vibration absorber in the DLW and the effects of the location side and ...
متن کاملEquivalent Formulation and Numerical Analysis of a Fire Confinement Problem
We consider a class of variational problems for differential inclusions, related to the control of wild fires. The area burned by the fire at time t > 0 is modelled as the reachable set for a differential inclusion ẋ ∈ F (x), starting from an initial set R0. To block the fire, a barrier can be constructed progressively in time. For each t > 0, the portion of the wall constructed within time t i...
